Koyama Village specializes in Japanese food products which were used since feudal times. It tries to recapture the way food was in olden days Japan. The company is owned by Kevin Ko.  The boss of koyama, Kevin, has an extensive knowledge on Japanese food products. He also believes that quality and value are key elements in determining the success of the company.  Kevin has also trained in various forms of martial arts and teaches tai chi.

Japanese food is low in fat and carbohydrates.  It is thus, good for people who are overweight, or have diabetes/high blood pressure, etc.

Japanese wine is a naturally fermented alcoholic beverage classsified in the same general category with wine and beer. Sake is made from the simple ingredients of rice and water. Our sake is made without alcoholic additives. Like beer and wine, sake is lower in calories and alcoholic content. Freshness is the key to good taste. At koyama, we stock only fresh, high quality sake.

Japanese rice

Rice is Japan's most important crop, and has been cultivated by the japanese for more than 2000 years.  Most rice is sold as hakumi (white rice). A second major rice variety used in Japan is mochi rice.  Cooked mochi rice is more sticky than conventional rice. It is often pounded into rice cake.

Tea drinking has a long history in Japan. As early as the Heian period (794-1185) the cult of tea had already flowered. It had been a pastime enjoyed by noblemen and the upper class. Powerful antioxidants found in green tea can help slow aging and have a beneficial effect on health.

In koyama village, we have a wide range of Japanese food products. The core of japanese cuisine can be separated into 3 main categories, i.e. sake, rice, and tea. We also sell antiques, manga, anime, gift items, etc. We also teach tai chi. View the (news and events section) for venue and fee information.
